What is Arecibo Observatory?
The Arecibo Observatory is a Radio telescope in the Municipality of Arecibo, Puerto Rico. The observatory is also called as National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center (NAIC). It is being managed by Sri International, USRA and UMET as it entered into an agreement with National Science Foundation. Scientists are allowed to use the telescope when their submit proposals are analyzed by independent scientific board. The observatory was Complete in 1963. The Arecibo Observatory features world largest single-aperture telescope which is being utilized in radio astronomy, aeronomy, and radar astronomy observations of the giant objects of the Solar System.
