What is amitav ghosh?
Amitav Ghosh is an Indian author. He was born on 11 July 1956 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He is best known for his novels The Glass Palace, Sea of Poppies and River of Smoke. Amitav Ghosh started his writing career in 1986 with the novel The Circle of Reason. Amitav Ghosh pursued his studies from Delhi University and University of Oxford and has also served as an academic at Queens College, Harvard University and City University of New York. He has been honored with many awards such as Prix Médicis étranger, Dan David Prize, Ananda Puraskar and Padma Shri. Some of the novels of Amitav Ghosh include The Shadow Lines (1988), The Calcutta Chromosome (1995) and The Hungry Tide (2005).
