Alltel Wireless Communications Corporation, abbreviated as AWCC started its journey in the year of 1943 as Allied Telephone Company which was merged with Mid-Continent Telephone in 1983 to form a new company named as Alltel. It opened its door to the industry of Mobile Network Operator by the joint collaboration of Charles Miller and Hugh Willbourn.
