What is Akc?
American Kennel Club commonly known as AKC provides all the information about the dogs. AKC also supports to search training and services for dogs. The club was started on September 17, 1984 by 12 sportsmen. The company also organizes AKC Therapy Dog™ Program and AKC Canine Partners Program. AKC also publishes a magazine under the title AKC Magazines. Its officers are accountable for daily operations, policies and decisions as guided by the delegate unit. AKC organizes many competitions throughout the year for dogs and handlers; these competitions include Junior Showmanship, Obedience trials, Dog agility, Rally obedience, Field trials, Sheepdog trials, Lure coursing and many others. The Club has organized its services into various departments; these departments include AKC Archives, Club Education/Booth Services, Dna Operations, Event Operations, Investigations and Inspections, Judging Operations, Obedience, Performance Events, Special Services and Veterinary Outreach. Since its inception, American Kennel Club is rewarded with various awards such as ACE Awards, Breeder of the Year, Community Achievement Award, Lifetime Achievement Awards, Outstanding Sportsmanship Award, etc. Till 1998, the club had registered approximately 1,000,000 dogs and 555,000 litters. AKC also provides Canine Good Citizen program which examines dogs of every breed to check their behavior and temperament. It also suggests the home and public environment for them. AKC Companion Animal Recovery, an affiliation of the club distributes pet microchips across the United States.
